About Us

H4H is a student-led nonprofit and initiative born at UVIC that re-invents the charity model into one that is youth-centric, locally-led, and with no overhead costs. All funds are generated by hosting events in Victoria, some you may recognize include Dip Fest, the ST5K, Y.F.D.F.D., or Dance RC. All proceeds raised from these go directly to human rights projects in 5 countries that are envisioned, started, and managed by local changemakers who wish to see a change in their community.

What up world! I started H4H 3 years ago as a passion project when my friend Arat had a vision for his community in Cambodia. I believe young people can and should make change; and my passion is to see this manifest.  It’s been a great privilege to see H4H grow in Victoria and into 5 countries, and to meet, work, and live with the inspiring people who run our projects all over the world.Â
Hi Hands! I am in my fifth (shhh) and final year at UVIC for Indigenous Studies and Environmental Studies. I love being outdoors in any way and I’m a big soup girl (stay tuned for soup-er bowl saturday). I got involved with H4H on a whim, but it is one of the coolest things I have ever been a part of. I love this initiative with my whole heart, and am incredibly passionate about what we do.

Hi! I’m studying geomatics at UVIC. I enjoy volunteering & working with youth! I became part of H4H from a strong passion for helping others and contributing to positive change.Â
Hi! I’m in 3rd year in Sociology and Environmental Studies. I originally grew up in Ucluelet, and have enjoyed Victoria’s resilient ecosystems and small city community. I joined H4H last year and was most intrigued by the club’s strong reach worldwide and within the greater Victoria communities. Everyone on our team is so passionate in creating new events that foster fun and lasting memories while also funding global initiatives for youth. I strongly urge anyone to join our team, we have a place for everyone's ideas and are stoked to have you!

Hello! I am in my fifth and final year at UVic studying Microbiology and Environmental Studies. I joined H4H last year to help run a fabulous fundraising event called DanceRC to raise funds for an orphanage helping displaced children in the Democratic Republic of Congo. I was amazed at how strongly our community showed up and out to support this cause and how directly the club was engaged with the partnering community.Â

Hi I’m Megan and I’m a fourth year geography and environmental studies student. I love the community side of H4H, where we can provide joy here in Victoria through dances and other events that translate to positive impact elsewhere. Really excited for what’s in store this year!

Currently in my 3rd year in Business at UVIC. Before moving to Victoria from Vancouver, I took a gap year and went solo-travelling, learning about myself and my own beliefs, as well as the functioning of global systems, showing how our actions at home can have significant effects on those abroad. This experience, as well as my recent exchange in Scotland, motivated me to join H4H to allow students to leave long-lasting and impactful social change.

Hi! Fourth year political science at UVIC. I've been with the club since the beginning, but I'm so excited to be working on a bigger role. Watching this club grow from just an idea into everything has been so inspiring!
